Academic Programs
The Department of 数学 offers two 数学 Major programs: a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science, and two minors: a 数学 Minor and a 数学 for Middle School Teachers Minor. 联系 Academic Advisement if you have questions: (509) 527-2132.
数学 major (Bachelor of Arts)
学生 who get a B.A. in 数学ematics take the 数学 core, but also take a language and select a minor. Senior students are required to take the Major Field Test (MFT) in 数学ematics.
数学 major (Bachelor of Science)
学生 who get a B.S. in 数学ematics take the 数学 core, but then select additional classes from one of five possible “career pathways.” Career pathways include specialized 数学ematical classes as well as supporting classes from allied domains such as biology, 化学, 物理, computer science, 和经济学.
数学 minor
A minor in 数学ematics complements almost every major on campus. A minor requires 28 credits of 数学ematics, six of which must be upper division.
数学 for middle school teachers minor
This minor is for education majors who wish to teach middle school 数学ematics. The courses required total 33 quarter hours and reflect Washington State teaching endorsement requirements.
